As the first month of school has passed us by, we decided to ask some seniors what they wish they had known as juniors. Here is what they had to say:
"If I could offer advice to my junior self, I would tell her not to dread the work. Having a good attitude towards your responsibilities allows you to gain so much more from OSSM."
"There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I would tell the younger version of myself that it is ok to not succeed at everything. Lots of trials are ahead, and it is impossible to meet the expectations that you put on yourself. It may be shocking to hear, but school is not the most important thing. It is important to maintain friendships, health, and schoolwork to be even a semi-functional human being. As long as you can work hard and prioritize what is really important, you are going to be okay. Enjoy your time here at OSSM; it is short. While it does have its flaws, you are a nerd, and you love it here. Everything is going to be okay. Also: Be sure to study for the PSAT and start looking at colleges."
"Finals week is not as stressful as everyone makes it out to be."
"Visit and talk with your professors when you need help on assignments. You will understand the content better and your professor will know your commitment to the subject."
"Don’t underestimate the advice of your seniors."
"Its going to get harder. Don’t give up!"
"Keep up with your work. It piles up."
"Make sure to get sleep."
